‘History of our cinema’ recalls Bigas Luna




‘History of our cinema’ will dedicate to Bigas Luna his program this week, within the celebrations of the International Year ‘El Ojo que Mira, Bigas Luna’. This Friday’s program will include the films’Ham Ham’ (1992) and ‘Anguish’ (1987). The presentation of the first will be in charge of Elsa Fernandez Santos, film critic for the newspaper El País, and a regular contributor to the program.

Participants in the colloquium Cuca Canals, co-writer of ‘Jamón, jamón’, and four other films by Bigas Luna; Santiago Fouz Professor at the University of Durham in the United Kingdom and coordinator of the book ‘The cinematographic legacy of Bigas Luna’; Y Javier Ocana Film critic for the newspaper El País and a regular contributor to the program.

Six years of ‘History of our cinema’

Presented by Elena S. Sanchez and directed by Francisco Quintanar, ‘History of our cinema’ premiered in May 2015 and recovers in prime time Much of Spanish cinema since the 1930s. It has a team of experts that every Friday analyzes the film proposal and the theme chosen in each installment.
