The History and Heritage association, whose headquarters is in Marmagne, held its general meeting last Saturday October 7. During the moral assessment, Fabrice Marguier, president, particularly highlighted the work carried out by the volunteers of the association, such as the research carried out on the six resistance fighters shot in Marmagne in June 1944 which will give rise to a series of conferences and works educational with schools in the region. The president welcomed the restoration of the roof of the Saint-Sulpice chapel and thanked the municipality for its commitment to the heritage of the municipality. The agenda also focused on the renewal of the office of the Marmagne association, Fabrice Marguier not wishing to run again, Ivan Kharaba was elected president. Monique Crépeau took the position of secretary and Alain Day continues as treasurer.
As of this Saturday, the new office met. Beyond finalizing the work on the Marmagne shootings, the association is engaging in new research work such as “Being schoolchildren in Marmagne during the post-war period”, or even “the long history of water in Marmagne. This last theme also has the objective of restoring the village fountain, its wash houses and promoting this often little-known heritage.
Everyone is welcome to join the association. The membership fee remains unchanged at 11 euros for a single person and 15 euros for a couple for the year.
