Historical shame in Razgrad! Karabakh brutally humiliated Ludogorets – 2024-08-13 20:55:23

Ludogorets made a serious effort and after a disastrous 2:7 loss at home to Karabakh, they were eliminated from the Champions League (4:8 total result). Regular time of the second leg of the third qualifying round in Razgrad ended 3:2 for the Azerbaijanis and overtime followed (4:4 overall result of the two games). In them, Karabakh scored as many as 4 goals, after the players of Gurban Gurbanov did whatever they wanted with the defense of the “eagles”.

Never before had Ludogorets lost with so many goals as a home team in European tournaments.

The “Eagles” continue their participation in the Europa League, and in the play-off for a place in the groups they will play against Petrocub from Moldova, who defeated the Welshmen from New Saints with an aggregate score of 1:0.

Among the starters of Ludogorets there were two changes compared to the starting eleven a week ago. The seriously injured Bernard Tekpetei and the suspended Caio Vidal made way for Rick Jonathan and Ruan Seko.

The rematch in Razgrad started very badly for Ludogorets. Karabakh managed to take the lead in the seventh minute. Verdon made a very gross mistake, gifting the ball to Juninho, who broke away from the front alone against Bonman and scored without a problem – 0:1.

Georgi Dermendzhiev’s footballers immediately rushed to equalize and succeeded. In the 13th minute, Piotrowski passed to Dinis Almeida after a cross from a foul, and the central defender headed the crossbar. Kvadro Dua proved to be the smartest in the addition, jumping over a defender of Karabakh and he was also accurate with his head – 1:1.

The Swiss international dedicated the goal to the seriously injured Tekpetei, displaying his shirt.

The goal gave wings to the Eagles, who quickly made a complete turnaround. In the 18th minute, Ruan Seko fought off two Qarabag defenders and then headed in front of the goalkeeper, who punched him in the face as he attempted to clear. Initially, the referee did not award a penalty, but after a review with VAR, he correctly changed his decision. Dua scored from the penalty spot with a strong shot under the crossbar in the center of the goal – 2:1.

Shortly after, the visitors made two forced substitutions. In place of the injured footballers, former Loko (SW) and Black Sea players Mateus Da Silva and Patrick Andrade appeared. The starter was Leandro Andrade – he also played for the “sailors”. In the 42nd minute, he could have scored, but Bonman made the save.

By the end of the half, Karabakh managed not only to equalize, but also to make a comeback. In the 44th minute, Italian referee Simone Sozza awarded a penalty to the Azeri, flagging a foul on Duarte. The player of Ludogorets threw himself on the splits, but did not hook Yasin Benzia, but on the contrary – the player of the visitors stepped on the midfielder of Razgrad. However, the referee did not hesitate to point to the penalty spot, and the victim scored for 2:2.

In the fifth minute of added time, Patrick Andrade made it 3:2 for Karabakh. The former player of the Black Sea, who appeared from the bench, scored with a shot from the edge of the minor penalty and ricocheted into Duarte’s leg.

At the break, Yakub Piotrovski gave way to Ivaylo Chochev. In the 49th minute, Naresi made another mistake, which started a dangerous counterattack for the Azerbaijanis. It was well developed, but in the end Verdon, with a self-sacrificing twine, averted the danger. In the 55th minute Son shot over the goal. Minutes later, Ruan Seko won an aerial duel with Medina and came up alone against the goalkeeper, but his ground shot went wide. Shortly after, the Brazilian was replaced by Spas Delev.

In the 77th minute, Zubir feinted three in the green and fired a powerful shot – luckily for the home team into the crossbar.

By the end of regular time, the two teams did not create any more threats in front of the gates and it ended 3:2 for Karabakh. Thus, the match went into overtime after the victory of the “eagles” in the first match with 2:1.

A minute after the start of the first overtime, Karabakh combined effectively on the left flank. A pass to Benzia followed, who took a one-touch shot from 5-6 metres, but Bonmann cleared.

Ludogorets’ weak defensive game did not stop there. Von Vitry, who appeared at the beginning of the first 15-minute overtime, was again outplayed by Benzia. The midfielder returned Bayramov to the reserve, and he with a cannon shot did not leave a chance for Bonman – 4:2 for the guests.

Four minutes after the start of the second overtime, Nedyalkov and luck saved the “eagles” from another goal. After another dangerous attack by Karabakh, Benzia shot from 7-8 meters in front of the goal, but the captain of Razgrad put his head down, and then the ball bounced off the crossbar and went out into the corner.

A minute later, however, the comical defense of the Bulgarian champion got a fifth goal. This time it was Djija.

Just 120 seconds later, Patrick Andrade scored once more to complete the humiliation of the people of Razgrad, Blitz reported.
