The summit comes a week after Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met with leaders of Egypt and the Emirates in Sharm el-Sheik. It reflects the changing relations in the Middle East, where more and more countries are establishing relations with Israel, not so long ago the sworn enemy.
The way was paved by then-President Donald Trump, who in return came out to meet Arab countries in other areas, amid shared concerns over Iran’s nuclear program. The international community is about to sign a new nuclear deal with Tehran. Israel is an avowed opponent of this, but countries such as Egypt and the Emirates also view the possible deal with suspicion.
