It means that the latitude, the humidity of the great lakes, that we are practically in Canada, it is normal to see this snowfall year after year.
I have friends who live in Toronto, Montreal, Pittsbugh, Chicago, which is quite far, and New York, of which I have many there, and well, halfway around the world.
It is a privileged area due to the abundant snowfalls but, in addition, in one day, that herd falls on you. My friend Alberto, for example, lives in Montreal and there are weeks where it snows all week and you can’t imagine the snowfall.
One of my granddaughters studied for a year in Montreal and what is there is humidity and cold, the perfect combination for snow.
In Calgary it’s cold there, sorry, crazy, but it’s not very humid and it’s drier.
We are talking about the United States, which is eight times Spain and if we go to Canada, the second largest country in the world, and at those latitudes, cold yes or yes.
In Asturias, for reference, it snowed on Saturday and the ports were in chains. Sunday night, in Oviedo, for example, there were over 9 degrees and a storm arrived which left some areas without a drop of snow from the previous day and today, Monday, in 6 hours, the ports are already chained up again because the snow the level that was at 900m fell, rose to 2000m and fell again to 900m.
I think we were born talking about snow, in the wrong country, but it is what it is. Since I was a little girl I had a lot of fun and I still enjoy it, but unfortunately I said it sometimes, many years ago, it snowed more, it was colder and it rained even more. The tradition of skiing in Spain, which seems to be in many, but not so many and sometimes we think that less is more because the resort is at its peak.
If you go to live elsewhere today, there are many who are very good and beautiful. I know many and there are advantages and disadvantages as in all places. They say lucky are those of us who spend a lot of time in Asturias because of the landscape, countryside, mountains, gastronomy and so on, but I wouldn’t mind living in Zermatt or somewhere where the ski season lasts 5-6 months . Don’t think California is all beach and sun, that there are stations with elevations that take huge packages. If they tell you about areas like Hungary, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland and even Austria, be aware that, as in other places, I remember a summer in Budapest with 43 degrees and a winter with -12.
