“historic” agreement between exporting countries for a drop in production

The oil-exporting countries, Saudi Arabia and Russia at the head, agreed Sunday evening of a production drop of an unprecedented scale in the hope of halting the fall in prices affected by the pandemic of new coronavirus. After several days of arduous negotiations, a final meeting organized by videoconference has removed the last obstacles to a reduction in the oil supply of 9.7 million barrels per day (mbd) in May and June, announced the Organization of the oil exporting countries (OPEC).
