Hispanic school bus driver abused and kidnapped a student: accusation in New York – El Diario NY

Giovanny Campos, a Long Island (NY) school bus driver, was charged as a suspect of repeatedly assaulting a teenage student for seven months, including at her home in Queens (NYC) and on a bus in a parking lot, authorities said.

Campos, 50, was formally charged last week with rape, kidnapping, criminal sexual act and reckless endangermentthe Nassau County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday, reported Pix11.

The victim is a 15-year-old girl.according to New York Post. Campos was a Cheese Bus Company driver and met the teen on his routes from Central High School to North High School in Valley Stream, authorities said.

The suspect allegedly raped the teen several times between January and July 2023, including on the bus in a parking lot, according to authorities. Also apparently He took the student to his apartment in Jamaica (Queens) to have sex, prosecutors said.

“School bus drivers are trusted to transport and protect our children, but this defendant allegedly took advantage of and sexually abused a teenage student both on his bus and in his apartment in Queens,” the US District Attorney said. Nassau County, Anne T. Donnelly.

Campos pleaded “not guilty” during his arraignment. He is due back in court on December 12. All charges are mere accusations and those charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

At the end of November, a Hispanic man was sentenced in Westchester (NY) to between 34 years and life in prison for repeatedly sexually assaulting two children, just 5 and 6 years old, and sending explicit photographs to a teenager.
