Hispanic man killed his wife inside their home: domestic violence in New York

Raúl José Santos was arrested as a suspect after the New York police found his Dominican wife stabbed to death in their home in the Bronx.

Ana Amadiz Peña, 45, was discovered yesterday around 2:30 pm Tuesday with a stab wound to the chest, lying on a bed inside her apartment at 2860 Grand Concourse near East 198th Street, in the Jerome Park neighborhood. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Her estranged husband of 40 years turned himself in and was arrested hours later, around 7 pm Tuesday. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, according to authorities.

According to neighbors consulted by NY1 News, Peña was living with a new partner, and Santos came from the Dominican Republic and killed her out of jealousy.

The couple had no documented history of domestic violence and Santos had no arrests, he said. New York Post. Police noted that there were no signs of forced entry and no weapons were recovered at the scene.

On the eve, on Monday a woman and a 53-year-old man were also found dead in the Bronx. The authorities are investigating whether it was a case of homicide suicide.
