Hispanic Federation event offers free health services and other resources at the Queens Museum – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – The Hispanic Federation with the National Alliance para Hispanic Health returns to celebrate the 15th annual edition of the event ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving! this Wednesday, July 7 at the Queens Museum in Corona.

The event promotes physical activity for Hispanic families and good nutrition to improve the health and well-being of all people regardless of age.

During the event, free medical exams, health information and vaccines against COVID-19 will be offered for those with limited access to health services. Food will also be distributed to 600 families.

“For more than a decade, our close partnership with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health (the Alliance) has helped shape the health and well-being of thousands of children and families in New York City’s Latino communities. Our flagship event, ¡Vive Tu Vida! Get Up! Get Moving! provides free health screenings and education resources, but the importance extends beyond this day. Together with the Alliance We are initiating a conversation about lifestyle choices within a community that still faces vast health disparities and encouraging positive changes that will affect generations to come. We are extremely proud of this initiative and thank our partners, sponsors and the network of nonprofit organizations for their continued support, ”said Frankie Miranda, president and CEO of the Hispanic Federation.

The Hispanic Federation will be at the Queens Museum on Wednesday, July 7 to promote that healthy lifestyle.

What activities will be offered?

Free vision screenings, hepatitis B and C, blood pressure, glucose, STI and BMI. In addition, the COVID-19 vaccine will also be offered free of charge.

People will also be able to enjoy a Zumba, Tai Chi and yoga class.

Food will be distributed to cover the meal of a family of 4 for a week, along with educational resources.

During the event people will be able to enjoy music, arts and crafts, prizes and gifts for the whole family, including the little ones.
