Egyptian doctor, Yasser Abdel Qader, who was treating the late actor Hisham Selim and died Thursday at the age of 64, told the details of his cancer disease.
Abdel Qader claimed that the disease Hisham Selim suffered from was lung cancer, and it was discovered at an advanced stage and not in the early stages which facilitate treatment and recovery.
The Egyptian doctor added that Selim was treated in a private hospital in Cairo for a whole year, during which he received a different number of treatments, be it “chemical, radiological or immunological”, but did not obtain the expected benefit. , as his condition worsened in his final days.
He explained in statements to the satellite channel “Sky News”: “Hisham Selim was surrendering to the disease in his final days, because he realized the nature of his health conditions, which the medical team had previously explained to him, especially from when he was at the end of the third stage of the disease, and after we tried many times to control and cure the disease. “
The attending physician, Hisham Selim, stressed that the artist “was sophisticated throughout his treatment and treated the medical staff with great affection”.
The sadness descended on the Egyptian art community, as well as on the public, as soon as the news of his death was announced, especially as he achieved artistic success, and it drew attention to the roles he embodied in a dramatic and cinematic way.
The late artist confirmed last May that he had cancer and indicated at the time that he resided in a village on the north coast to receive treatment that could last several months.

The last television appearance of the artist Hisham Selim was in the series “Counter Attack”, which was broadcast in the month of Ramadan in the year 2021, and was written by Baher Dowidar and directed by Ahmed Alaa El-Deeb. As for the cinema, his last participation was also last year through the film “Musa” with actor Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz.
