World Today News (WTN): Nico, congratulations on your unbelievable performance against the Bruins. Can you walk us through your mindset after they took that early lead?
Nico Hischier (NH): Thank you. After the Bruins scored first, we knew we needed to stay positive and composed. We’ve had some tough losses lately, so we wanted to make sure we didn’t let that effect our game. I think we did a great job of sticking to our system and capitalizing on our opportunities.

NH: It feels amazing. I’m really proud of what our team has accomplished so far, and I’m happy to have contributed to that. To be the first Swiss player to reach 40 points this season is a big honor, but I’m focused on helping our team succeed rather than individual milestones.
WTN: As captain, you’ve been a leader both on and off the ice. How do you maintain that level of consistency and drive throughout the season?
NH: It’s not easy, but I think it comes down to a few things. First, I try to stay focused on the task at hand, whether that’s a single game or an entire practice. I also try to lead by example, working hard and giving my best effort in everything I do. Lastly, I’m blessed to have great teammates and coaches who help me stay motivated and accountable.
NH: I want to thank our fans for their incredible support, especially during these challenging times. We want to make them proud, and we’re working hard every day to improve and achieve our goals. I think we’ve shown already this season that we can compete with anyone, and I’m confident that if we stick together and keep pushing, we’ll have a successful season.
