A man in his seventies went into cardiac arrest at his home just as he started a physiotherapy session. He could be saved.
What was supposed to be an ordinary physiotherapy appointment at home turned into a rescue operation around noon on Friday. “My neighbor fainted and fell off the sofa he was sitting on when the physiotherapist had just arrived. His wife and I really saw R. leave, ”said a resident of Yvorne, who witnessed the scene.

It is in this context of extreme stress that the physio gave a cardiac massage, then a mouth to mouth to the septuagenarian. During this time, the wife of the unfortunate man alerted the emergency services. “I did cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation. The situation was complicated. After seven to eight minutes, the patient gave signs of life. This is where the ambulance arrived. Relief then followed nervousness, ”says the 31-year-old Spanish physio.
R. was taken by ambulance to the CHUV where he was still hospitalized on Sunday.
