The Holy Father’s visit to Canada at the end of July is increasingly in jeopardy due to his state of health, but when he appeared for the Angelus on Sunday he seemed to have regained his strength.

“The positive side that I can see is that today was the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square and I was wondering if he was going to be present or he was going to do it by videoconference and no, he was on the spot. He stood on his balcony for ten minutes teaching and apologizing for not being able to go to Africa. I thought he looked good, ”says the specialist in religions, Alain Pronkin.
In the last days, the pope canceled two trips because of his health which is too fragile according to his doctors, including the one preceding the one in Canada.
“It’s a bad omen because we know that he also canceled the one at the end of June in Lebanon and the one in Africa was very important in his eyes because he had played a very important role in bringing together the leaders of South and North Sudan to end the war in this territory,” he said.
