Only 20,000 albums sold!
She saw things big. Even perhaps too big… Back with her album Number 9, Jenifer announced last summer a huge tour of the French Zéniths. With “incredible decor and many musicians, in a supercharged atmosphere”, she says, enthusiastic, on Instagram. At the time, her opus “made for the stage” had not yet been released, but the benevolent reception of the public at festivals filled the former Star Academy winner with hope. An optimism that autumn will quickly tinge with gray. Because from the second week after the release of the disc, cold shower: the album tumbles in 26th position of the sales, then leaves squarely the Top 100 after a short month of exploitation. For the one who kills herself to ensure a grueling promotion, chaining all possible TV and radio sets, going so far as to accept a manhunt show with Jarry, the pill is really very difficult to swallow.
Barely 20,000 sales recorded at the end of the year! A setback of very bad omen because, behind, there is this famous round… with immense rooms to fill. And as you might expect, places are not going like hot cakes. Thus, for the moment, none of the dates announced from March 3 are sold out, some being particularly shunned, such as in Marseille. Faced with the risk of having to sing in front of a sparse room or even of simply having to cancel certain concerts, the decision was therefore made to sell everything off. We have therefore seen -30% flourish on all ticket booking sites! It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to move the curious who apparently preferred Matt Pokora, who sold 50,000 tickets in 24 hours for his Epicenter tour. An old-timer, too, who could perhaps explain to Jen how to keep her “place”… in the hearts of the French.
