In the USA, George Floyd is a very well known name. This African American lost his life during his arrest by the police. The video of the tragedy had at the time made the tour of the web and the police officers involved in its arrest were sanctioned. The scene had sparked a wave of protests in the country which for ages has faced several cases of police violence that have led to death.
This case served as an example since the American justice took up the case. And the policeman charged in this case was found guilty and sentenced to more than two decades in prison. Last Friday, the African American statue was unveiled in Union Square in New York City during an exhibition featuring the statues of Breonna Taylor and John Lewis.
Yesterday Sunday, a man was filmed spraying the statue of George Floyd paint. The incident allegedly took place around 10 a.m., sources generally informed. According to the same sources, the statue of George Floyd is the only one to be vandalized two days after being exhibited in New York.
