A report by Heaven Apparently, his annual salary is “only” the equivalent of 1.6 million euros. Considering that Marco Reus recently earned up to 7.5 million euros at BVB, this is a drastic step backwards financially.
However, there is also income from sponsors in the USA. This is usually quite generous. Superstar Lionel Messi, for example, earns over 25 million euros from additional sponsorship contracts. The figure for Marco Reus is probably similar, although significantly lower.

Staying in Germany was not an option for Marco Reus after leaving BVB: “It was clear to me that I definitely did not want to stay in the Bundesliga. And to be honest, Europe was not an option for me either, as I want to do something completely different at the end of my career,” the offensive star clarified.
