“Never let anyone tell you you can’t do something.” That beautiful and inspiring phrase said by the character of Will Smith to his son in the film Looking for happiness seems to be ringing louder than ever now. The actor starred in one of the most embarrassing moments of the latest edition of the Oscars and many thought this would be the end of Will Smith’s career, winning the Oscar for his performance in Williams method but becoming an unknown Hollywood for her unfortunate accident.
However, the actor seems to have managed to recover from the crisis, and he did so with what had previously given him success: a good movie. Away from the noise and the spotlight, Will Smith is back at work and, in collaboration with the director Antonio Fuquahe made a film that will bring him back to the map, to freedom. A film with which he certainly hopes to support the respect he has earned with his performance Riccardo Williams and that he lost soon after when he slapped Chris Rock on stage.
to freedom is Smith’s new film and is already starting to garner rave reviews in its first screenings. People in the industry who have already been able to see it in a private screening described it as a story of adversity and resilience and stressed how important it is to the African American community. Because to freedom It will be a film that tells the escape of a slave in the fields of Louisiana, played by Smith himself..
I had the pleasure of watching the film #Emancipation and I can’t begin to say how powerful this is for OUR community and OUR history. It is a story of adversity, resilience, love and triumph.

to freedom will premiere on Apple TV + on December 9th. It seems clear that Will Smith is seeking forgiveness from Hollywood and that he could be close to getting it with a great new film that largely restores the good image he had before the fateful Oscar crash.
