His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works, crowned the Saudi poet Mohammed Al Madawi Al Wadaei with the poetry banner on the final evening of the eleventh season of the “Million Poet” program, and it was presented by media figures Saud Al Kaabi and Maitha Sabah.

The coronation was attended by Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi, Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, and a large gathering of Nabati poetry lovers, at Al Raha Beach Theater in Abu Dhabi.

Competitions

After five Saudis and a Kuwaiti competed for the title within the activities of the final episode, the details of which were broadcast the day before yesterday on the Abu Dhabi and Baynouna channels, the title was won by Muhammad Al Madawi Al Wadaei, from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Amer Muhammad bin Mubashir came in second place, and Mubarak bin Madgham Al Aklabi came in third place. Abdullah Hanif Al-Yami won fourth place, Salah bin Dhahi Al-Harbi came in fifth place, from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Faisal Abareed Al-Azmi from Kuwait came in sixth place.

On this occasion, Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei said, “We appreciate the great interest that the country’s wise leadership gives to programs for preserving popular literature that enhance and consolidate the values ​​of creativity in the process of poetry, to contribute to Abu Dhabi moving forward in its comprehensive vision aimed at promoting culture, rooting heritage and transmitting it to generations, and embracing Creators, presenting distinguished poets, and celebrating poetic achievement away from profit and loss.”

He congratulated the winning poets and those who won first advanced positions in the Million Poet Program, and all the poets participating in the eleventh season, pointing out that the stars of the 48th season are an elite group of graduates of this program, and the poetic achievement they have achieved enhances the delivery of the purposeful messages of poetry to their communities and to the entire world, as poetry is a message. Tolerance, love, peace and a common language among peoples.

Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi offered his sincere congratulations to the poets on their poetic achievement, which is added to the record of the “Million Poet”, which falls within the great role of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in supporting the cultural and heritage movement, appreciating the Nabatean poets, and valuing their giving.

He explained that from the start of its first season in 2006 until its eleventh season in 2024, more than 1,200 poets, out of more than 15,000 male and female poets interviewed directly by the jury in its preliminary rounds, were included in the list of the initial 100, and 528 poets from 20 Arab countries also presented. And non-Arabic, about 1,500 poems were broadcast live at Al Raha Beach Theater, between a corresponding main poem, across 167 live broadcast episodes.

Al-Wadaei won first place with 76 marks and a prize of 5 million dirhams and the title of Millionaire’s Poet. Amer Muhammad bin Mubasher came in second place with 57 marks and a financial prize of 4 million dirhams, while Mubarak bin Madgham Al-Aklabi came in third place and received 56 marks and a prize of 3. Millions of dirhams. Abdullah Hanif Al-Yami won fourth place with “55” marks and a prize of two million dirhams.
