His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the International Marine Sports Federation and the Fujairah International Marine Sports Club, on the sidelines of the club’s “Silver Jubilee” celebration.
The agreement was signed by Ahmed Ibrahim, Director of the Fujairah International Marine Sports Club, and Thomas Court, Secretary-General of the International Marine Sports Federation, in the presence of Dr. Raphael Kewley, President of the International Marine Sports Federation.
His Highness affirmed the leading position that the Emirate of Fujairah has achieved in organizing and hosting international marine sports competitions, and attracting world champions to compete in them, pointing to the interest and directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Fujairah, in providing the requirements for the success of the international tournaments organized by the club. And implementing its goals that align with the country’s aspirations and competitive vision in this field.
His Highness noted the importance of the strategic partnership and cooperation agreement between the two parties, and its main role in developing marine sports in all its forms in the future, and empowering and training young people and preparing them for the world through cooperation programs and joint projects between the two sides.
His Highness praised the constructive work and fruitful cooperation between the Federation and the Club in previous years, and the Club’s efforts over 25 years towards consolidating the global reputation of the Emirate of Fujairah, in the field of marine sports and its competitions in general, and the World Championship for Powerboats in the “X-Cat” category in particular, which contributes to supporting its vision and plans. And its growth at all levels.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the International Marine Sports Federation and the Fujairah International Marine Sports Club, in various fields, including hosting the X-Cat World Championship rounds for the next three years.
