Sharjah, October 3, 2005 – Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi’s House, as part of the “Award Story” project, chose the “Honorary Doctorate” certificate awarded by the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah in September 2005. .
Al-Dara was chosen to receive the honorary doctorate awarded by the Armenian Academy, as the story of the month of October 2023, due to its long history, fame, and importance. At that time, it was granted to only 60 individuals around the world.
The members of the Academy’s Supreme Council had unanimously taken the decision to grant His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah an honorary doctorate, due to the great interest shown by His Highness in spreading culture, science and thought, not only at the level of the Emirate of Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates, but also at the Arab, regional and international levels, and his efforts. Clear support for scientific research in various journals.
During that occasion, which was held at the academy’s headquarters, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah also delivered a speech in which he expressed his thanks for this appreciation and attention. He outlined the stages of the educational process in Sharjah, including the higher education sector, starting with the establishment of the American University of Sharjah and passing through the establishment of various colleges at the University of Sharjah in cooperation with… Universities and specialized academic institutes.
At that time, during his visit to Yerevan State University in Armenia, His Highness was awarded the Gold Medal, which is the highest honor awarded by the ancient university that was founded in 1919, for His Highness’s great efforts in the fields of education and culture.
The “Prize Story” project aims to shed light on a monthly basis on one of the distinctive pieces from the collection of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.
