His ex storms with messages. Twenty-year-old reported for stalking

by Francesca Chilloni

The plot of this story is no different from many others, where a man would not have accepted the separation and would therefore have started to persecute his ex. The feelings behind this pattern are powerful, very strong: anxiety, fear, anguish, sense of oppression. The feelings that a young woman says she experienced for months, every time she left the house or turned on her cell phone.

He, a 24-year-old resident in Val d’Enza, was reported yesterday by the Gattatico police for persecutory acts. The judge of the preliminary investigations, at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office, ordered him to be banned from approaching and communicating with the victim. An electronic bracelet was also fitted to him, to constantly monitor his movements and prevent him from trying to suddenly appear again in places frequented by his ex. The judge’s order orders him to stay at least one kilometer away from her.

The man apparently began stalking the victim last March, when the girl ended the relationship. But “enough” he wouldn’t have liked it, and he would have started to demonstrate a nagging, increasingly obsessive attitude, engaging in persecutory behavior and interfering in her life to the point of causing her a continuous state of anxiety and stress. The investigations were long, which allowed us to collect a large amount of material on the young man.

In fact, it appears that the 24-year-old began to bombard the victim with calls on his cell phone. And then emails and messages via WhatsApp, but also on social networks such as Instagram, Messenger, TikTok… She would have tried to block him on any platform, but he – unable to get in touch virtually – would have resorted to the old mail, sending her two letters while he left a third letter on the windscreen of the car. The content? Always the same: “I want to see you, talk to you, clarify.” He also allegedly showed up at the young woman’s house several times and also approached her inside a supermarket.

The girl then turned to a lawyer, who sent the 24-year-old a formal warning. The boy continued, the lawyer warned him again. Nothing to do. The young man continued to send emails, text messages and make calls. He would also have created numerous profiles on social media, insisting on having one last meeting. Finally, the victim filed a complaint with the police, who confirmed his words and handed over a file with the investigative findings to the prosecutor’s office headed by Dr. Calogero Gaetano Paci. Yesterday the same police, having received the order from the investigating judge, applied the order: electronic bracelet, ban on approaching the victim, her home and the woman’s places. And don’t try to contact her in any way.
