his daughter Paris confides in the dangers of medicine

Paris Jackson confided in the dangerousness of the American medical system for people with addiction.

Paris Jackson confided in the dangers of medicine in the United States. The musician, who released her 1st album Wilted in 2020, spoke with the magazine LVR about it, and this while she is on the cover of the latter. The King of Pop’s daughter, Michael Jackson, has struggled with drug and alcohol abuse in the past, and explains that doctors’ prescriptions can sometimes tend to do more harm than good to their patients: “There should be a better verification process. Before you give away any medicine – or something even more dangerous, like selling a gun, you should check them out”. Paris Jackson also accuses the health services of giving priority to saving time over the health of patients: “Psychiatrists hand out addiction drugs like candy without actually examining the patient. There is no harm in doing a thorough examination”.

A suicide attempt in 2013

As a reminder, Michael Jackson died of cardiac arrest after taking questionable medication – authorized by a prescription from his doctor – in 2009. 4 years later, his daughter Paris attempted suicide by taking 20 Motrin tablets and cutting her veins. After undergoing a long treatment, the young woman of 23 years became an ambassador for the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation as well as the Heal Los Angeles Foundation, which respectively help people with AIDS and those most in need. Through these various commitments, she explains to LVR want to be of service”in every possible way” : “Sometimes it looks like activism by going to a protest, or it can mean donating. It also means buying someone a meal, driving someone home, or calling someone in need. I try to be supportive and touch different degrees of service, not just large scale…”.
