Internationally, his talent is well established. After the boxes of his career like Infiltrators, the saga of Ocean’s, Jason Bourne or Alone on Mars to name a few, Matt Damon will be in French theaters on September 22 with a film shot in Marseille and the Franco-American cast: Stillwater. He shares the poster with Camille Cottin, with whom he climbed the steps of the Cannes Film Festival to present their novelty, thanks to a role for which he had to gain weight and muscle. He plays Bill Baxter, a taciturn character who works in oil platforms in the United States and must one day go to France to exonerate his daughter, imprisoned for a murder she did not commit. A complex role for the interpreter of Will hunting, on par with anything he’s played before. And yet, that’s not the opinion of one of the people closest to him: his daughter.
The American actor is very discreet and appreciates little what has to do with celebrity, as he confided to Anne-Sophie Lapix in an interview a few weeks ago: “Going out in the street, being chased by papparazzi … Some people are happy about it and that’s very good. If we know that the man is married to Luciana Barroso with whom he has three daughters, he remains discreet about his private life.
