According to information from Ouest-Francethis tragedy would have occurred at the end of a chase between two vehicles which would have started in Vezin-le-Coquet, on the close outskirts of Rennes. The vehicle in which the victim, a five-year-old toddler sitting in the back, was located, was reportedly targeted by shots from hooded individuals who chased him. The child’s prognosis would be poor. The perpetrators of the shots are said to have fled.
This chase comes a few hours after a new episode of violence, pitting two rival gangs against a backdrop of drug trafficking in the Rennes district of Maurepas. However, no link can be established between these two facts at the time of writing these lines.
