One day before the hearing for Lieutenant Alfonso Camacho was held, a leaked audio allegedly featuring cadet Joselyn Sánchezsole inmate in the case Maria Belen Bernalrevealed the details of what happened in the early hours of 9/11.
The audio material would have been disseminated by the previous defense of Sánchez, thus violating the principles between lawyer and client. In the conversation, which is cut into parts, the lawyer consults a series of uncomfortable questions about what happened between the cadet and Germán Cáceresfugitive and main suspect in his wife’s femicide.
In the dialogue, the lawyer asks his client to limit herself to answering yes or no. This is how the cadet mentions it she was allegedly in an intimate relationship with Cáceres at 05:30 that day. This would happen after the now fugitive has committed the crime.
Next, the attorney asks a series of questions to find out more details about that intimate moment and then moves on to explain the strategy they would have from that moment forward.
Joselyn Sánchez also indicates that she has deleted some chats with the main person involved in the crime and even appoint a police generalthat he would offer him a deal.
“It is quite convenient that at this stage of the trial, an audio leaked just one day after a hearing was held to connect the prosecutor’s investigation into another possible defendant who is Second Lieutenant Camacho,” he stressed. Joan Paul Garzettacurrent lawyer of the cadet, to the digital media La Posta.
He added that this audio “violates any principle of professional secrecy that should exist between a lawyer and his client, whoever that may be. I think All people who meet with a lawyer do so according to a principle of absolute trust and confidentiality..
He clarified that the material disseminated on social networks would not be an additional element for the trial, since it does not bring any new elements to the case.
Likewise, he said he was convinced that there is no evidence linking Sánchez to the crime, for which he is convinced that there will be a conviction in favor of the cadet.
Vistazo has attempted to contact the attorney who allegedly leaked the audio, but has not received a response until this note is closed.
Joselyn Sánchez was prosecuted – initially – for an alleged crime of involuntary disappearance. However, after the discovery of the body of María Belén Bernal, on the hill of Casitagua, registered on September 21, the case was transferred to the Directorate of Human Rights of the State Attorney General’s Office.
On the basis of the new elements gathered, on 23 September, the prosecutor in charge of the case reformulated the charges for the crime of femicide.
Lieutenant Alfonso Camacho was also linked to this case, to whom the prosecutor attributes an alleged omission because that night he had heard noises and would not have intervened to rescue the victim.
While Germán Cáceres is still on the run and no further information on his whereabouts has been revealed in recent months.
