His contract has expired. Belmadi’s fate with the Algerian national team revealed

Jahid Zvezef, president of the Algerian Football Association, has revealed that Djamel Belmadi, coach of the “Desert Warriors”, will remain in his post until the 2026 World Cup.

Belmadi’s contract with the Algerian Federation expired at the end of last March, but he maintained his position, even if he has not renewed the contract so far.

Zvezev said on Algerian radio today, Friday: Belmadi decided last Ramadan to continue coaching the national team and from that moment there is no longer any need to talk about renewing his contract. He will remain in office until the 2026 World Cup.

Zvezev, on the other hand, refused to reveal the names of the doubles candidates to support the Algerian national team, noting that it is still too early to decide the identity of the team’s new sporting director.

Zvezf revealed that the Algerian Federation will sign an agreement with an international sportswear company next month on preferential terms compared to previous contracts.

He also recalled that the Algerian Federation will appoint a national technical director at the beginning of next December, replacing the national Tawfiq Quraishi, who holds the position on behalf.

Zvezf expressed his annoyance at the negative behavior of some fans, especially the disrespect for the national anthem of the rival teams and the riots in the league competition, suggesting that a campaign would be launched in which Belmadi and the players of the first team would participate in order to curb these behaviors that damage Algeria’s reputation.

Zvizev confirmed that Algeria will submit its bid application to host the 2025 African Nations Cup, when the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announces the opening of the bid door, which is expected to take place between April and June 2023.

The president of the Algerian Federation pointed out that the executive committee of the “CAF” will meet twice in Algeria next year, the first in January and the second in April.
