After all, the Spanish footballer Isco will not transfer to Union Berlin. On Tuesday, Bild newspaper published photos of the former Real Madrid midfielder entering Berlin’s Charité Hospital, where he was to undergo a medical examination and then sign a contract until 2024 with an option to extend it by another year.
He was accompanied by Union technical director Michael Parensen and the club’s media team. However, Union general manager Oliver Ruhnert could only state that Isco changed the terms of the contract at the last minute. “We would like to see Isco in our team, but we have certain limits. The new conditions did not correspond to the ones we agreed on before.” said Ruhnert.
The 30-year-old midfielder worked at Real Madrid from 2013 to 2022. With the Spanish giant, he won the Champions League five times, La Liga three times and added four World Cup trophies to his display case. He last played for Sevilla, he is currently without a club affiliation.
