An entrepreneur from Seine-et-Marne has had a series of unpleasant surprises when he wanted to move his premises. While Raoul Antunes was planning to leave his premises in Champigny-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne) to set up his company Euro Clim Plus and its forty employees in Emerainville (Seine-et-Marine), several hundred squatters l ‘have prevented it. As Le Parisien reported on June 2, Roma families had been squatting the premises since August.
The court decision ordering the eviction of the many families who had taken up residence in the premises of Raoul Antunes was not going to take long to materialize. So the squatters preferred to leave before being dislodged by the police. But behind them, the occupants left a chaos for which the entrepreneur had not prepared. After having “discovered the rampage”, Raoul Antunes confided in the columns of the Parisian his “total depression”.
However, the entrepreneur does not plan to stop there: he turned to justice. Assisted by a lawyer, he has already filed a request for prior compensation with the prefecture of Seine-et-Marne, to no avail. “We had obtained from the court of Meaux, last September, the summary expulsion of the people who squatted the warehouse”, specifies Me Florence Fredj-Catel. But “nothing happened” when she asked for the use of the police. “Hence this amicable compensation request,” she explains.
“It’s the mafia behind”
Decided to obtain justice in the face of the shortfall of his company specializing in the installation of thermal equipment, Raoul Antunes decided to appeal to the administrative court of Melun. He intends to “seek compensation for commercial and material damage”, assessed at “at least 200,000 euros for the moment” by his lawyer.
The mayor of Emerainville also says he is shocked by the situation affecting his citizen, in a video posted on Youtube by the municipality. “We had to stop these squatters before they all arrived,” protested Alain Kelyor. Some of the 300 or so squatters “paid 250 euros per month for a cabin,” he argues, before wondering who was benefiting from this money. “It is the mafia behind, which exploits them,” he assures us. And in the end “it is the taxpayer who will pay,” he says.
