Admission of pre-orders for the purchase of the new electric crossover Cadillac Lyriq lasted only 19 minutes – the company was forced to stop registering orders due to the fact that applications were submitted for the entire first batch of the model. The American car manufacturer announcements this in his official Twitter.
According to Electrek, the pilot batch of Cadillac Lyriq in the special debut edition was 1,500 cars. To confirm his intention to buy a car starting at $ 60,000, the buyer had to make a $ 100 deposit.
It will be recalled that the Cadillac Lyriq concept car was introduced in the summer of 2020, and the production version of the model debuted in the spring of 2021. The crossover is built on a new modular platform developed by General Motors, which will later be the basis of electric cars with different sizes and classes.
The Cadillac Lyriq is powered by a 100 kWh battery that powers the rear axle power unit, which has 345 hp. and 440 Nm of torque. The car can travel up to 500 kilometers on a single charge.
You can charge the battery thanks to a special 19.2 kW home system or a 190 kilowatt fast charging system. In the latter case, every 10 minutes charging will add about 120 km of additional travel by car.
In the US, the first cars will reach their customers in the second quarter of 2022. It is possible that the model will later appear in Europe – representatives of the American brand have already talked about the possibility of launching the Cadillac Lyriq in Europe, although others specialists – this will not happen.
