After living in Los Angeles for five years, Hind has noticed that the friendships she has built up there are more superficial than those in the Netherlands. The corona crisis plays a role in this, says the singer on Wednesday The Telegraph.
“A number of so-called friends have shown their true nature over the past year,” said Hind, who now releases her music under her surname Laroussi. “In the Netherlands I have friendships that never disappear, even if you don’t see each other for a while.”
“Here it is all a lot more superficial. Friends can be counted on one hand, if you are lucky maybe two. You often hear that, but it really is.”
Due to the corona crisis, Hind’s American breakthrough is even more difficult than expected and the singer returns to the Netherlands. “Not that things are much better in the Netherlands now, but at least here I still have my dear friends and family around me.”
Hind says he has two albums on the shelf. She will wait until after the corona crisis to release it.
