Hina Juventus, Inter Milan & Antonio Conte get fined

Conte pointed his middle finger at the Bianconeri officials at the Allianz Stadium in February.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) imposed fines on Inter Milan and their coach, Antonio Conte in the aftermath of the incident with Juventus.

In a match last February, Conte looked angry with Juventus officials when he was about to enter the dressing room at Allianz Stadium.

When it was the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final in Turin, Inter failed to qualify because on aggregate they lost 2-1 in the first meeting at home.

Conte suddenly gave off his emotions after the match ended, even being caught on camera pointing his middle finger at several Juventus officials who were in the stadium stands including president Andrea Agnelli.

The FIGC then investigated the incident and on Wednesday (19/5) yesterday they decided to fine Conte and his club Inter for € 2,000 each.

Conte himself apologized for the incident after the match, but stressed that he was acting this way because he felt provoked.

“I want to only talk about football during the press conference, so I’ll say this before we start,” Conte said Football Italia.

“I’m here to apologize, because I reacted in the wrong way when I was insulted. I could have reacted differently and in a more positive way.”

“I’m sorry and I will learn from this incident for the future. Insults and provocation should not be an excuse, because I still shouldn’t respond like that,” continued the former Juventus and Chelsea coach.

“Everyone sees what happens at Juventus Stadium, that’s important for me. After all, we as coaches, players and club presidents should be an example and for that I should react to insults and provocations differently, maybe with a thumbs up or a pat. hands to show I can hear what is being said, but the response should be more positive. “

“However, now we should concentrate on the match. People want to talk about football, not gossip,” concluded Conte.
