HIMBARA Commitment to Be the Government’s Strategic Partner to Accelerate PEN

BUSINESS INFO – The Association of State-Owned Banks or Himbara continues to be committed to supporting various programs launched by the government in an effort to help the community and accelerate national economic recovery due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The various programs include credit restructuring, distribution of social assistance (social assistance), distribution of wage subsidies (BSU) for workers, Banpres for Micro Enterprises (BPUM) and distribution of national economic recovery funds (PEN).

Until the end of July 2021, it was recorded that BRI had distributed basic food programs worth Rp. 3.1 trillion to 5.5 million recipients, PKH worth Rp. 6.2 trillion to 3.8 million KPM and distributed BPUM worth Rp 11.62 trillion to 7.5 million MSME actors.

“Efforts to encourage MSMEs to continue to grow and survive in the midst of difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic must be carried out by relying on synergy or cooperation between parties. The distribution of three types of stimulus from the government so far, namely government spending, government investment and government guarantees, has actually been enough to help move the national economy and MSME players,” said Sunarso.

To continue to improve the distribution of social assistance services, Himbara constantly evaluates the distribution process to those who are entitled to it, starting from coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Social Service in the local City Regency.

With the achievement of the distribution of each Himbara touching above 99 percent and even 100 percent of the target given by the Ministry of Social Affairs, Himbara hopes that the people who receive the social assistance can immediately disburse it to meet their daily needs. Himbara together with the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs and all Social Services in districts and cities always accelerate the disbursement so that all Social Assistance funds can be immediately received by Beneficiary Families (KPM), along with all the accessories, including the Prosperous Family Card (KKS).

Himbara continues to strive so that the process of disbursing PKH funds and the Sembako Program is always well monitored and relatively quickly absorbed by the community. According to the Regulation of the Minister of Finance (PMK Number 254/PMK.05/2015, with the amendment 228/PMK.05/2016) Banks can distribute aid within 30 days but in reality the Bank distributes funds to KPM Accounts on average for a maximum of 10 days.
