Dubai United Arab Emirates (CNN)-The former presidential candidate who previously served as US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, commented on the victory of former US President Donald Trump in the Republican Party primary elections in New Hampshire against his rival aspiring to represent the Republicans in the 2024 presidential race, Nikki Haley.
Clinton said in a blog post on her page on the X platform (formerly Twitter): “After the Republican primaries in New Hampshire, the choice for November has become clearer than ever before… Will she choose to expand freedom and strengthen democracy with Biden, or more… Banning abortion and denying elections with Trump? I say: four more years of progress.”
Trump defeated Haley by 54.3% (173,426 votes) compared to 43.4% for his competitor (138,546 votes).
In response to the New Hampshire result, Haley said in a speech: “I want to congratulate Donald Trump on his victory tonight. He deserved it, and I want to acknowledge it,” noting that the race is not over yet, saying: “New Hampshire is the number one state in the country. “And it is not the last,” adding that “there are dozens of remaining states.”
