Hilary Swank: – – A big loss

American actress Hilary Swank (47) is to considered one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed actors, after a long career on the big screen.

In recent years, however, it has been quite quiet from the 47-year-old. In an interview with The Guardian in 2018, the actress revealed why she had withdrawn from the spotlight.

At the time, she told of the break came as a result of her father, Stephen Michael Swank, had undergone a lung transplant in 2014. In the following years, the 47-year-old had to take care of his father.

“A great personal loss”

It was Friday last week, shortly before we called in the new year, that the 47-year-old was able to reveal that his father has passed away.

“This year was a big year for me and for many of us. I have been away from the phone and social media for a few months, due to a major personal loss. In October, my dear father made the transition to the other side.

Swank further writes that she had a special relationship with her father, as it was she who had to take care of him after the lung transplant.

“I became incredibly close to him during this time, our relationship deepened and we enjoyed every moment we had together. He will always be one of my favorite people, and not a single day goes by without me missing him ».

Surrounded by love

The actress is also honest that the experience and loss of her father has helped her understand the “circle of life” better, and that she is more herself than ever.

According to the obituary, Stephen Michael Swank died on October 1 at UCLA Ronal’s Reagan Medical Center in California, surrounded by love from his family. It writes Entertainment Tonight.

Hilary Swank is known from big movies like “Boys Don’t Cry”, “Million Dollar Baby” and “PS I Love You”. She won Oscar statuettes for the first two films.
