Hilarious Distraction: Bee Noise Takes Tennis Player by Surprise

A fun moment for spectators and viewers, but annoying for him. Stefanos Tsitsipas, world number 4, was disturbed by an astonishing noise during his 2nd round at the Cincinnati Masters 1000 against American Ben Shelton. When he thought he was dealing with an insect, the bee noise buzzing in his ears actually came… from the stands.

Twice when he had to serve, the Greek player waved his racket in an attempt to chase away the imaginary bee, as can be seen in the video below. Before realizing that there was no bee or wasp, and running to see the chair umpire to complain: “There is a person who imitates a bee behind me”, before add with a laugh: “It’s never happened to me in my career.”

The Greek then approached the stands to try to determine where this funny noise came from. It was then that a spectator stood up and pointed out the culprit without hesitation. Stefanos Tsitsipas asked for the culprit to be ejected from the stands, but it ultimately remained in its place, making a gesture of apology.

An adventure that did not disturb the 4th player in the world more than that, since he then won the match against the local stage with the score of 7-6 7-6 and thus qualified for the 8th. tournament final.
