1. Camel’s Hump – Vermont
Located in the state of Vermont, Camel’s Hump is the third highest mountain in the Green Mountains. Its ascent is not very long and you quickly reach its bare summit which allows you to observe the landscapes at 360 degrees. In the distance, we can see some Adirondack peaks as well as Lake Champlain. Its rocky cape is the ideal place to take a photo of this incredible colorful setting and make all your friends envious.

2. Mont Giant – New York State
For a hike that is far from boring and still offers a good challenge, we highly suggest Giant Mountain. Throughout its length, the trail wanders between the forest and rocky capes, in addition to reaching several beautiful viewpoints. It is once at the top, at more than 1410 meters above sea level, that your efforts will be rewarded. An impressive mountain panorama will appear before your eyes, with its colors that will fade too quickly.

3. Jay Peak – Vermont
Jay Peak results in one of the easiest hikes on this list. By taking the Long Trail, a 439 km trail that crosses the entire state of Vermont, you will arrive at the summit in less than an hour. From there, a magnificent panorama will appear before you. An ideal fall excursion for the whole family. For lovers of wilder hiking, it is possible to go to Big Jay summit, a short unmarked trail.

4. Indian Head – New York State
Indian Head Mountain is a very popular Adirondack trail. Although it is long, its elevation remains quite low, which allows us to enjoy nature without forcing ourselves too much. The particularity of this mountain is undoubtedly the spectacular view it gives of Lake Ausable, from the rocky cape. Finally, don’t forget to pass by Rainbow Falls, another must-see on this colorful trail!

5. Noonmark – New York State
Noonmark was one of our greatest hiking discoveries so far. Although not one of the highest peaks in the Adirondacks, this mountain does offer one of the most impressive views. From up there, you can admire the Great Range mountains which, in autumn, form an enchanting backdrop. For those who like to collect peaks, it is possible to combine this peak with Round Mountain and make a loop.

6. Mont Lafayette – New Hampshire
For those looking for a greater challenge, Mount Lafayette in the White Mountains is sure to satisfy. In addition, the panorama seen from above reveals magnificent autumn colors – as is the case throughout the trail.

7. Mont Mansfield – Vermont
At 1,340 meters above sea level, Mount Mansfield is the highest point in the Green Mountains in Vermont. Taking the Sunset Ridge Trail, you will arrive at a first summit (The Chin), just a few minutes after passing the tree line. Then, you will reach its other peaks via the path that runs along the ridge – another great opportunity to observe the deployment of autumn hues.

8. Cascade Mountain – New York State

For those who would like to extend their hike, it is possible to go to the summit of Mount Porter, thanks to a short detour of 2.5 km.
