Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar says in “Fath Al-Bari” (7/ 268, Dar Al-Ma’rifah): [وَإِنَّمَا أَخَّرُوهُ -أي التأريخ بالهجرة- مِنْ رَبِيعٍ الْأَوَّلِ إِلَى الْمُحَرَّمِ لِأَنَّ ابْتِدَاءَ الْعَزْمِ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ كَانَ فِي الْمُحَرَّمِ؛ إِذِ الْبَيْعَةُ وَقَعَتْ فِي أَثْنَاءِ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ وَهِيَ مُقَدِّمَةُ الْهِجْرَةِ، فَكَانَ أَوَّلُ هِلَالٍ اسْتَهَلَّ بَعْدَ الْبَيْعَةِ وَالْعَزْمِ عَلَى الْهِجْرَةِ هِلَالُ الْمُحَرَّمِ، فَنَاسَبَ أَنْ يُجْعَلَ مُبْتَدَأً. وَهَذَا أَقْوَى مَا وَقَفْتُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ مُنَاسَبَةِ الِابْتِدَاءِ بِالْمُحَرَّمِ] Uh.
