On the 13th, a laying hen farm in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do, was diagnosed with highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI). Earlier this afternoon, two confirmed cases occurred at two farms in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do. This is the first time that three farmhouses have been confirmed in one day this year.

– The AI ​​Central Accident Control Center announced that it had confirmed the highly pathogenic H5N8 type AI at a laying hen farm in Gimpo. The previous day, on the 12th, Jungsubon confirmed a positive reaction in a simplified test conducted after receiving a report from the farm that increased chicken mortality.

The quarantine authorities plan to kill poultry raised within 3 km of the farm and the surrounding area. The outbreak farm was raising 40,000 chickens. In addition, for poultry farms within a 10 km radius, movement is restricted for 30 days and AI tests are performed.

Prior to this, two meat duck farms in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, were confirmed with H5N8-type AI with high pathogenicity. On the outbreak farm, more than 50,000 ducks are reared.
