Review: Marvel’s Avengers has a long way to go as a multiplayer game

Stomping around as your favorite superhero in Marvel’s Avengers feels good, and with that, the game may well overcome the most important hurdle. The narrative part is also surprisingly strong by letting the superheroes shine one by one, with outsider Ms. Marvel at the forefront. However, the multiplayer (still) lacks inspiration and is dependent on ambiguities.

It’s amazing how no open world game has recreated the freedom of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild since the release of Nintendo’s masterpiece. Ubisoft appears to be the first with Immortals Fenyx Rising.

Perhaps that name is not familiar to you. That’s because Immortals was billed as Gods and Monsters at E3 2019, but underwent such a big change, according to Ubisoft Quebec, that a name change was in order. Broadly speaking, little seems to have changed: we are still dealing with an open world game in a Greek mythological setting.
