In the men’s 100m freestyle, Alessandro Miressi secured a spot in the semifinals, while Manuel Frigo did not advance. Frigo struggled with his stroke ​in the second lap and finished with a time of 48.14. Miressi will need⁣ to replicate ⁤his performance in the 4x100m freestyle relay (47.54) to qualify for‍ the final, given the high ‌level ‌of competition. Italy failed to qualify for the final in the mixed 4x100m medley relay. Lorenzo Mora (54.69)​ and Federico Poggio (58.87) ‌struggled in the backstroke and breaststroke legs, while Ilaria Bianchi‌ (58.39) and Costanza Cocconcelli (54.13) were unable to ‌make up ground‌ in the ⁣butterfly and freestyle legs. The Italian team finished with the 11th fastest time of 3:46.08, with the United States leading the way in 3:40.47.
