Highlights: Arsenal vs United – Rasmus Højlund’s Impact, Controversial Refereeing, and United’s Defensive Woes

Rasmus Højlund started on the bench for United away to Arsenal on Sunday, but came on in the 67th minute.

Arsenal had created the only chance of the game, when Christian Eriksen intercepted the ball and set Marcus Rashford in motion with a wonderful breakthrough pass after 27 minutes. Rashford attacked into the box, feinted away two men and thumped the ball into the post.

Unfortunately, Martin Ødegaard equalized with a hard shot in the corner just a minute later.

After 59 minutes, referee Anthony Taylor awarded a penalty, but Kai Havertz went down easily, VAR asked the referee to look at it again and he then overturned the decision, although many Arsenal supporters will probably argue that it was not a clear error by the referee, as Wan -Bissaka and Casemiro barely ran into Havertz.

Midway through the 2nd half, Harry Maguire then came on for an injured Lisandro Martinez, which means that both of United’s first-choice stoppers are currently out with injuries. Left back Luke Shaw is also out, meaning 75% of the back row is out.

Nine minutes before the end, André Onana saved United with a leg parade, when Arsenal had a giant chance.

Six minutes before the end, Victor Lindelöf also had to leave, so that Jonny Evans made his debut for United.

A minute before the end, Alejandro Garnacho was sent through alone with the goalkeeper. He made no mistake, but in the end VAR concluded it was offside by a few centimeters when he was played through.
