The ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, Abdullah Mohammed Al Basti, a number of cultural leaders, prominent writers and thinkers, and a group of people interested in the Arabic language.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, said: The Mohammed bin Rashid Prize for the Arabic Language constitutes a natural reflection of the intellectual and cultural movement in light of the unique vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Chairman of the Council. Ministers and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and clearly reflects the UAE’s sincere commitment to preserving our Arabic language and developing it in a sustainable manner.”
Al-Basti added: “Since the establishment and launch of the award, we have placed at the top of our goals and priority the work to enhance and spread awareness of the importance of personal and institutional initiatives in this context, in addition to encouraging young people to be creative in developing the various uses of the Arabic language. We have also worked to expand the Arabization of businesses from different fields of knowledge.” To benefit from the experiences of global cultures, to raise awareness that the Arabic language is the language of the future, and to work to crystallize this role and goal on the ground.”

Winners of the sixth session
The award, in its sixth session in the education axis, in the first category for the best initiative for teaching and learning the Arabic language in early education, honored the “Arab Thought Foundation” from Lebanon for its initiative “The Project to Contribute to Developing Methods of Learning and Teaching the Arabic Language “Arabi 21.”
In the second category of education, for the category of the best initiative for teaching in the Arabic language in school education (from the first to the twelfth grade), the “Kam Kalima Foundation from Lebanon” won for its “Kam Kalima” initiative.
In the third category within the same axis, the category of the best initiative to teach the Arabic language to non-native speakers, the Saudi Electronic University from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia won for the “Arabic Online Program.”
In the second axis: Media and Communication – the first category in the category of best work in the Arabic language in electronic media and social media channels. It was won by “Karzah Children’s Channel from the United States of America.”
As for the second category within the same axis, and within the category of the best initiative to serve the Arabic language in the media “radio programs and television programmes”, the Talent Department at “Abu Dhabi Media Company” – UAE won for its initiative “A Program in Arabic”.
Third: The “Technology” axis. The first category is the category of the best initiative in using social media networks or a smart technical application to learn and disseminate the Arabic language. It was won by Mr. Mahmoud Salah Abdel Aziz Al-Sayyid Suleiman from the Arab Republic of Egypt for his initiative entitled “Easy Arabic.”
Within the same axis – the second category: the category of the best initiative to develop and disseminate Arabic digital content or Arabic language processors. It was won by the Kalman Curriculum initiative for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, presented by the Kalman Foundation for Educational Services from the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Fourth: The “Linguistic Policy, Planning and Arabization” axis. The first category in this axis is the category of the best initiative in linguistic policy and planning, which was won by the National Arabic Language Week initiative in Chad, which is organized and supervised by the General Union of Arabic Language Support Institutions in Chad.
The second category in this axis is the category for the best Arabization or translation project, and the Arab Center for Arabization, Translation, Authorship and Publishing in Syria won for its initiative to contribute to the process of Arabization of higher education in the Arab world and the transfer of developments in the various fields of modern science.
Fifth: The axis of culture, thought and the knowledge society – the first category, which is the category of the best initiative to promote the culture of reading and create a knowledge society, and was won by the “Reading Family Programme” initiative launched by the Omani Youth Sada Foundation.
In the same axis and within the second category, which is the category of the best artistic, cultural or intellectual work in service of the Arabic language “play – song – dramatic work”, the award was withheld in this category.
Winners of the seventh session
First: The education axis. The first category is the category of the best initiative to teach and learn the Arabic language in early education. The initiative “One Book for Us, One Day of Study for You” won, and the owner of the initiative is the Ajyal Foundation from the Emirates.
In the second category – the category of the best initiative for teaching in the Arabic language in school education (from the first to the twelfth grade) – the Technology Foundation from Lebanon won for its digital transformation initiative to teach children who have dropped out of school and eradicate illiteracy.
Within the third category in the education axis, which is the category of the best initiative to teach the Arabic language to non-native speakers, it was won by the Arabic Language Teaching Institute at Princess Noura University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the program for teaching Arabic as a second language using “MetaFirst.”
Second: Media and Communication Axis, First Category – Best Work in the Arabic Language in the Media, which was won by Dubai Media Incorporated – UAE for its program “Inspector Faseeh.”
As for the second category within the same axis, for the category of best work in the Arabic language in electronic media and social media channels, it was decided to withhold the award in this category.
Third: The technology axis, the first category – the category of the best smart application for the Arabic language and its dissemination, which was won by the Engineering Company for Digital Systems Development from the Arab Republic of Egypt for its “Natiq” initiative.
As for the second category: Best initiative to address the Arabic language technically, it was won by the Dictionary of Future Terms initiative presented by the Dubai Future Foundation in the UAE.
Fourth: The “Linguistic Policy, Planning and Arabization” axis. The first category: The Best Initiative in Linguistic Policy and Planning category, which was won by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and Digital Government – UAE, for its initiative in implementing the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and Digital Government project to support Arabic digital content.
As for the second category of this axis, which is the category of the best Arabization or translation project, the “Interpretive Dictionary of Medicine and Health Sciences” initiative, which was implemented by the Arab Center for Authoring and Translating Health Sciences in the State of Kuwait, won.
Fifth: The “Culture, Thought, and Knowledge Society” axis – First Category – “Best Cultural or Artistic Work to Serve the Arabic Language” – won by Bedaya Media Foundation – UAE for its program “Mansour’s Adventures.”
The second category in the same axis – the category of the best initiative to promote the culture of reading and the knowledge society. It was won by Mr. Imad Ahmed Al-Attar from Morocco for his initiative, the Readers’ Club in Morocco.
The Ninth International Conference on the Arabic Language
The honoring ceremony coincided with the opening of the Ninth International Conference on the Arabic Language, which runs from November 6 to 8. The conference includes a distinguished series of seminars, meetings, discussion and dialogue sessions in the presence of an elite group of writers, specialists and interested parties.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Award for the Arabic Language, within the framework of its vision and strategy to enhance the presence and enrichment of the Arabic language, allocated about 2.8 million UAE dirhams (750 thousand US dollars), distributed at a rate of 257 thousand UAE dirhams (70 thousand dollars) for each category of the award, which falls within Under the axes of education, technology, media and communication, linguistic policy, planning and Arabization, culture, thought and the knowledge society.
It is worth noting that the previous sessions of the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for the Arabic Language enjoyed remarkable success and wide participation from many individuals and institutions from around the world, as the total number of entries throughout the award’s history reached 8,246 entries, and the number of winners who were crowned during the life of the award reached 49 winners. While the previous session attracted more than 1,300 participants. The award allows individual participants, work teams and institutions to choose one of 11 categories that fall under 5 main themes.
