The most prominent collections witnessed by Riyadh Fashion Week
In its first season, Sports Fashion Week attracted a group of the most prominent Saudi fashion houses, which presented 16 shows over a period of 3 days, achieving remarkable success.
The show was attended by an Arab and international audience, including journalists, influencers and critics specialized in the field of fashion.
The three most notable performances at this event were:
– Journey into space with Honayda:
In a show by Saudi designer Hunaida Al-Serafi, the veiled American model of Somali origin, Halima Aden, surprised the audience.
She appeared in a luxurious blue dress after being absent from the international show scene for three years due to her retirement.
This collection for spring and summer 2024 was titled Honayda Cosmos, and was inspired by the world of space and Rayana Barnawi, the first Saudi woman to go into space. Therefore, the designs were distinguished by embroideries in the form of stars, moons, and planets.
– Desert elegance with Arwa Al Banawi:
“The Ramatuelle Desert” was the title of designer Arwa Al-Banawi’s collection for next spring and summer.
In it, she combined features from the West and the East, drawing inspiration from the atmosphere of a French coastal town, and memories from her birthplace in the city of Jeddah.
Her collection included suits and dresses inspired by the jalabiya style, and many of them were coordinated with Adidas sports shoes.
– Minimal elegance with Abadia:
The minimalist style adopted by designer Shahad Al Shuhail since her launch in 2018 has dominated her Dar Abadia collection.
It relied on the principle of simplicity and traditional handicrafts, to provide modern designs. The colors were black and white, in addition to large metal accessories.
