Highlighted by British Media, Egy Maulana Vikri Called Indonesia’s Lionel Messi: Okezone Bola

LONDON – Indonesia should be proud because it has a footballer named A Maulana Vikri. Because of his prowess in playing football, there is clearly no need to doubt, even the British media, namely The Sun, admits that the greatness of the FK Senica player is like Lionel Messi.

In an article published by The Sun on Sunday, January 30, 2022, the British media discussed players from abroad who were once called The Next Lionel Messi. They are more about discussing how the careers of footballers who were once equated with the former Barcelona superstar.

In that article, The Sun mentions a number of names that are considered similar to Lionel Messi’s playing style. As well as Mohamed Salah, Martin Odegaard, Marko Marin, Takefusa Kubo, and interestingly Egy Maulana Vikri were also mentioned by the British media.

Egy himself is called the next Messi because of his extraordinary achievements. Even though he is only 21 years old, The Sun is amazed by the experience of Egy who has had many international matches.

Because of Egy’s appearance, the Medan-born player was finally able to attract the attention of a number of European clubs. In 2018, Egy then decided to build his career abroad with Lechia Gdansk, one of the Polish League.

Shortly after, Egy moved to FK Senica, a club that played in the Slovak League in the summer of 2021. Since then, Egy’s appearance has improved and now he has just received a new contract from FK Senica until 2023.
