High water loss: leaking pipes must be repaired

At the municipal assembly on December 15, the focus is on the 2021 budget and renovation measures – and more modern students.

The Neuheim municipal council asks the municipal assembly (GV) for three loans. He asks for 760,000 francs to repair the water supply network between 2021 and 2024. According to the GV template, 13 of around 20 kilometers of water pipes are owned by the municipality. Some seem to leak heavily, because the amount of water lost and the number of burst pipes “must be described as high compared to the Swiss average”. Every year 1.5 percent of the lines are to be renewed, which corresponds to 195 meters.

Those Traktanden

At the community meeting on Tuesday, December 15, from 8 p.m., in the Lindenhalle, the following is on the program: protocol the Assembly of December 10, 2019; invoice 2019; Budget 2021; Financial strategy 2021 to 2024; Credit of 570,000 francs for the renovation of the Sewerage; Credit of 760,000 francs for the renovation of the Water pipes; Credit of 275,000 francs for Acquisitions in the IT area.

The sewer system, which is over 20 kilometers long, also requires maintenance work. An average of 250 meters are to be renewed annually by the year 2028. A framework credit of 570,000 francs is planned for the first three years, which the AGM will decide on.

This is the third loan in connection with the rehabilitation of the sewer system after 2014 (250,000 francs) and 2018 (410,000 francs). Neuheim has its own sewer system; because of its unfavorable location, the municipality is the only one in the canton of Zug that is not connected to the water protection association’s (GVRZ) loop.

New laptops for school

The last loan that the local council is looking for includes more modern IT for the school, worth CHF 275,000. The lion’s share of 170,000 francs is earmarked for new laptops for the benefit of students and teachers.

The village can afford it. The 2019 bill closed with an income surplus of 1.5 million francs. The AGM on December 15 will also vote on them, because no meeting was held in the spring due to the corona. In view of the investments, the budget for 2021 provides for a minus of around 108,000 francs. All this with a constant tax rate of 65 percent and a new tax discount of 4 percent.

The local parties SVP and FDP unreservedly support the motions, the CVP and the Green Liberals have not responded to our newspaper’s request.
