High – tech laboratory for production of marijuana was discovered today during a police operation in the town of Byala, Rousse region. The open premises for growing the drug culture are equipped at an extremely good technological level with lighting, air conditioning and irrigation systems and other necessary facilities. This was announced by the regional directorate of the Ministry of Interior in the Danube town.
The action took place after the police received information about unregulated activity in an abandoned site in the city. Surveillance of the site was undertaken, the data from the signal were confirmed and it was clarified that it was a building with limited access, and a person who periodically visited the site was identified. Today, the police started concrete actions to inspect the abandoned building with several halls and the mentioned visitor – a 42-year-old man who was detained.
Three large marijuana growing rooms have been found in the building. Currently, the approximate number of found pots with planted and grown marijuana stalks is 1700, as well as dried grass.
According to forensic experts, the interior of the site is an extremely well-built high-tech greenhouse, which grows a special variety of marijuana.
According to the district prosecutor Georgi Georgiev, in this case the best in composition and the largest amount of this type of plants were found, as well as the best equipped indoor plantation, which was encountered by law enforcement officers in the district. It seems that this is a serious, long-term investment, the prosecutor’s office added.
Prosecutor Georgiev said that the police action prevented a large amount of the drug from reaching the market.
