A 16-year-old high school student was stabbed in class on Wednesday in an establishment in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis).
Her alleged attacker, a 20-year-old high school student, was arrested and taken into custody. The victim was taken to hospital, but his life is not in danger.
The two high school students are educated in the same First Technology class at the Paul-Eluard high school.
Psychological cell and disengagement
A psychological listening unit was deployed by the rectorate of Créteil and almost all the students in the class and education assistants were taken care of. The teachers of the high school have decided to disengage and stop classes, according to the rectorate.
The Paul-Eluard high school in Saint-Denis has already experienced several episodes of violence in the past. In April 2018, several hundred teachers and parents gathered on the forecourt to “say stop to violence”.
