A high school principal is being investigated by the police for causing a drunk driving traffic accident the day after retirement.
According to the Gyeonggi Icheon Police Station, at around 6:30 pm on the 31st of last month, the SUV of Mr. A in his 60s, who was making an unprotected left turn at an intersection in Janghowon-eup, Icheon-si, collided with a vehicle that was going straight at a green light.
Three people, including the driver and a passenger of the two vehicles, were seriously injured in the accident and are undergoing hospital treatment.
The police confirmed that Mr. A was driving drunk through a drunken detector.
However, due to an injury, it is difficult to accurately measure alcohol consumption, so Mr. A’s blood is collected.
It was investigated that Mr. A, a former high school principal in the Gyeonggi region, retired on the 30th, the day before the incident.
Unfortunately, it is known that the two victims in their 20s who were riding in the other vehicle were students who went to the school where Mr. A worked in the past.
The police plan to prosecute Mr. A on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act and investigate the exact circumstances of the accident as soon as he recovers his health.
