For two years, at least 18 high school students have been filmed, Janesville Police Chief David Moore said at a press conference, adding that investigations are still underway to determine the exact number of victims.
“We don’t lose sight of the breach of trust that happened, but what we can offer is a thorough and prompt investigation, a transparent investigation,” he said.
According to the first information, it was one of the students who spotted the GoPro, installed by the coach, in his locker last Friday while looking for his towel. The camera was subsequently handed over to the head of the establishment. Contacted, the police were finally able to identify the suspect thanks to the recordings.
The coach was arrested as he boarded a bus to go to an athletics event. He was soon charged with possession of material child pornographyviolation of privacy and depiction of nudity.
In turn, school staff said the families of other potential victims will be notified and Brian Kitzman has been suspended. A support cell will also be provided for students and staff.
