Few regions are now spared by forest fires. Face high risk of firesthe National Forestry Office took prohibition measures in Seine-Maritime August 11 and 12, 2022.
A “very high risk” of forest fires
Seine-Maritime, faced with high heat, has been placed on heatwave yellow vigilance. In addition, the drought is intensifying as can be seen in Le Havre or in the Roumare forest.
The ONF therefore warns of a “very high risk” of forest fires in the department. This is why measures are taken for Thursday and Friday:
- prohibition of mechanized work,
- closure of forest roads usually open to automobile traffic,
- prohibition of all public demonstrations in the forest,
- total ban on any fire (barbecue, fireworks, campfire, etc.)
In Seine-Maritime, these measures concern the forests of Brotonne, Trait-Maulévrier, Lyons, Bord-Louviers, and the forests surrounding Rouen (Roumare, Londe-Rouvray and Forêt Verte). In the other state forests of the department, public demonstrations are prohibited as well as mechanized work (authorized only in the morning).
Tours will be organized by the NFB to ensure compliance with these measures.
